– Outpatient Programming Overview

The effects of a behavioral health concern can severely impact a person’s ability to carry out day-to-day activities, and these effects often worsen if the person doesn’t receive professiona support. At Integrated Healthcare Systems, we offer clinically excellent outpatient services for adults who are struggling with mental illnesses and substance use disorders. 

There are two levels to our programming, we offer Intensive Outpatient Therapy and Outpatient Therapy program. These programs can help members who are suffering from a wide range of concernss, including;

  • Schizophrenia  Disorder
  • Bipolar I & II
  • Major Depressive Disorder
  • Anxiety Disorder
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Opioid Use Disorder
  • Alcohol Use Disorder

Adults can enter one of our outpatient programs directly or after completing inpatient programming. Our Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient programs provide extensive support in a safe and welcoming environment.

Everyone who receives care at Integrated Healthcare Systems, follows a plan that is tailor-made for them. By addressing each person’s unique needs, we can help them set the groundwork for long-term stabilization and healing. 

Our Adult Intensive Outpatient program, is intended for people who are stepping down from a partial hospitatilization program, or who could benefit from a more structured level of care, and allows our participants to return home to maintain personal relationships. The program is designed for individuals who require coordinate, interdisciplinary treatment but do not require 24-hour care.

Participants most appropriate for our Adult IOP mental health prorams may have impairments in psychosocial functioning or a deteriorating psychiatric diagnosis. 

Adult IOP takes place Monday – Friday from 9 am to 3 pm, with a daily Lunch Break.

Services are in the form of:

  1. Individual psychotherapy that occurs weekly or monthly, as per treatment goal.
  2. Weekly group psychotherapy and psycho-education.
  3. Ongoing psychiatric consultation/evaluation.
  4. Medication evaluation/management.
  5. Psychological/social/academic assesstments.
  6. Physical health monitoring and follow up.
  7. Individual Case Management.
  8. Peer specialist support.

Our Adult Outpatient Program is designed for adults, older adults with mild to moderate mental health problems in at lease one are of daily life. For example, psychological/psychiatric symptoms that intefere with social or vocational or familial or academic or occupational or emotional functioning.

Participants receiving these services are able to safely maintain themselves in the community with once or twice a week contact and support from a mental health professioall and are motivated to attend services and engage in treatment. IHCS level ov care is for participants that are not a danger to themselves or others.

We are able to treat a wide range of mental illnesses, eg, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, thought disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, ADHD and substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, parenting/family/couples problems, mental health issues associated with medical illness and ental health isses associated with aging.

The IHCS program acts as the first line of evaluation, intervention and support for:

  1. Persons first experiencing mental illness symptoms, eg, thought disorder or mood disorder.
  2. Having a re-occurrence of mental illness or
  3. Needing a lower level of care after a course of day-treatment or an episode of hospitalization.

Services are in the form of:

  1. Individual psychotherapy that occurs once or twice a week.
  2. Weekly short-term group psychotherapy and psycho-education, if indicated.
  3. Ongoing psychiatric consultation/evaluation, if indicated
  4. Medication evaluation/management
  5. Psychological/social/academic assesstments.

Our Adult Co-Occurring Program provides treatment for participants diagnosed with both a mental health and substance use disorder. We incorporate a number of elements including groups specifically designed for participants with dual disorders, education regarding medications and other steps to recovery from both illesses, help in understanding the effects of substance use on their lives, and knowledge regarding substances of abuse and how they affect mental illness and medication.

  7. Peer support.

Our Telehealth IOP & OP services provides high-quality, evidence based treatment programs so that members seeking treatment will have the option to participate remotely or in-person to receive the care they need. Our Telehealth programming is available to existing, former and new members.

IHCS Virtual IOP & OP program includes:

  1. Participation in Individual & Family therapy
  2. Partipation in comprehensive group therapy
  3. Psychiatric consultations and ongoing psycho-pharmacology.

As the rehabilitation continues, it is important for loved ones to be supportive and make it a point to acknowledge each step forward, no matter how small it may seem. With the right treatment and proper support, it is possible for the participants to re-enter society and enjoy life once more.
